Les Rangs de Mars
The Rangs de Mars site offers two areas that are highly complementary in terms of difficulty and optimal climbing season. The “Neuf Lune” sector, which is exceptionally overhanging, offers an excellent playground for climbers seeking high difficulty. Unclimbable in winter due to humidity and spring seepage, its north-facing orientation and proximity to the river make it ideal in summer. The “Suzette Flipo and Ricky Banlieue” sector, on the other hand, features a vertical wall ranging from 15 to 20 meters in height, with routes ranging from accessible to moderate in difficulty; its south-facing orientation makes it appealing during the mid-season and even on sunny winter days. This guide was produced in partnership with the CAF of Saoû Synclinal, which equips and maintains the area. The printed guide “Climbing in the Drôme: Drôme Valley & Diois,” managed by the FFCAM 26 departmental committee, covers all the surrounding areas.
