La Cariée

A small chalk and flint cliff offering breathtaking views of the Seine and the two neighboring lakes. With its easy access and practicality, La Cariée is the perfect place for beginners! Owned by the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels de Normandie, the area was re-equipped in 2024 by the SNE Commission of the CT FFME de l'Eure. A handrail has been installed to secure access to the north face and there are points at the top of the cliff for setting up a top rope. It is strictly forbidden to climb above the cave. Our ethical guide is provided by the FFME Territorial Committee of the Eure in collaboration with Pascal Bocianowski, chief route setter for the cliffs along the Seine.
